Good afternoon Balmoral families
We are now in the middle of PAT and final assessment season for all grades. We are proud of all of our students’ achievements and wish them all the best in the last 2 weeks of the school year!
Please note that the last day of school this year is Thursday, June 26 – this is an EARLY DISMISSAL day and we will be following Friday timings. School will finish at 11:30am and buses will be here to take students home.
The school will be closed over the summer and the office will re-open on August 29.
CTF Market and Popcorn Fundraiser – June 24
Some grades 8 and 9 students will be running a small market in the Learning Commons on June 24. This is part of their final project for CTF Enterprise & Innovation and CTF Marketing classes. All students will have the opportunity to visit the market during the Sports Day rotation. Tickets will be sold to purchase small items from the market, including beaded crafts, artwork, lemonade, cookies, and more.
School Council will also be running a popcorn fundraiser this day! Small bags of Kernels popcorn will be available for purchase for $3. Available flavours are salt and vinegar, dill pickle, white cheddar, and butter and salt.
Please send some cash with your child to school on this day if they would like to purchase something!
Last Week of School – Cafeteria Closed and Reminders
The school cafeteria will be closed for cleaning and inventory during the last week of school (June 23 – 26). Please ensure your child has a litter-free lunch and snacks from home this week!
Yearbooks – for those who ordered and paid for them online – will be distributed during the last week of school.
Locker clean out – all students will be taking home their locker belongings during the last week of school. You may wish to send some extra bags with your student if they have many belongings at school.
All Sport One Day 2025
All Sport One Day is a fantastic, free sport discovery event designed specifically for children and youth aged 6 to 17. It offers a unique opportunity for young participants to try out a new sport or physical activity in a fun and supportive environment.
Whether your child is curious about learning a new skill or simply eager to get active, this event is an excellent way to introduce them to the world of sports without any financial commitment. By participating, kids can explore different sports, discover their interests, and potentially find a new passion, all while making new friends and staying active.
All Sport One Day 2025 will be held on Saturday, June 21 and Saturday, Aug. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
*This event is NOT sponsored by Balmoral School – it is a community event.

Mabel’s Labels – School Council Announcement
As this school year comes to an end, the 2025-2026 school year is just around the corner! Our school council has partnered with Mabel’s Labels once again for all your back to school labelling needs! From water bottles to lunch boxes to clothing items, they do it all. Our school council will make a small profit from of each purchase for upcoming events in the school year.
Visit https://mabelslabels.ca/
Select “Support a fundraiser” and use Balmoral School as your option. Thank you for your support!
** We strongly recommend labelling ALL student uniform items – this makes it much easier to return lost items to students throughout the year.
Lost and Found
All lost and found items are organized on the table outside of the main office, and will remain here until the end of the school year. Please ask your children to check the tables for any missing items. All remaining items will be donated or thrown away at the end of the June. Parents are welcome to come to school to take a look at the table as well.
Transportation Registration Deadline – June 22
Due to the changes in walk zones and bussing for many schools, the deadline for registering for next year yellow school bus transportation is now June 22. Please log into your MyCBE account and follow the steps to register for school buses next year.
Please note that late registrations can result in stops being farther away from your home, or possibly not having a bus route to start the school year. If you need support with transportation registration, please call the school office.
Library books are now OVERDUE
It is time for all students to return any school library books they have borrowed. It is possible that some students have borrowed a book without checking it out as well. We ask that all parents please look for any school library books at home and send them to school immediately.
If your child has lost their library book, please contact Mrs. Lee at lmlee@cbe.ab.ca
Thank you for your support with returning our precious library books!

School Council Vacancies for Next Year
We will have a few open positions on School Council next year – this is a great opportunity to get involved in school activities, talk more with administration, and give your feedback! Open positions are currently Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary.
Please consider volunteering for one of these positions next year – we value our School Council very much and appreciate their hard work on behalf of the school. If you have any questions about school council, please email balmoral@cbe.ab.ca and we will forward your question to the appropriate person.
School Fees are Due
Please check your MyCBE accounts for any outstanding school fees. It is important to pay these when the activity occurs so that the school is able to continue to offer these opportunities to students. If you need support with waivers or a payment plan, please contact the school office.
