Good afternoon Balmoral families,

May and June will be busy months at Balmoral, with many school events and celebrations. We are proud of our students and what they have accomplished this year! Please read the weekly newsletter carefully, as it contains important information that impacts all students.

Yearbook Order Deadline is today! – May 10

Our 2023-24 school yearbooks are now available for sale! These yearbooks are created by our dedicated teachers and students, and showcase all of our students and events throughout the school year. They are a wonderful memory for students to keep for the future.

School Fees are Due

This is a reminder to please pay your school fees in MyCBE when the activity occurs. The school has already paid the vendors for many of our past field trips (e.g. skiing, band camp, camp evergreen, etc.), and now we are waiting for families to pay their fees to cover these costs. We request that all families please pay your child’s outstanding fees so that we can continue offering these valuable learning opportunities to our students.

Fee statements are being sent home to families over the coming weeks. Please remember that certain school-based fees are mandatory as part of the TLC program (music fee, CTF fees, etc.) Parents/guardians are welcome to come to the office to pay fees in person, or pay online. Please call the school office if you need any support with paying fees.

Upcoming Performance – Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Balmoral School is proud to present this year’s school musical – Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Many dedicated students and teachers have been working hard learning their lines and songs for this popular Road Dahl story-turned-musical. We will have multiple performances of the musical so that all of our students and families can enjoy it. There will be performances during the school days on May 14 and 15, and the evening performance for families will be on May 15 at 7pm.

All Balmoral families and friends are welcome to watch the show. The gym doors will open at 6:30pm for families. Please arrive by 6:45pm to avoid disrupting the performance once it has started.

Upcoming Spring Spirit Week and School Dance

The Balmoral Student Voice Council has organized a Spring Spirit Week in May to celebrate the warm weather and have some fun school events before Provincial Achievement Tests in June. The Spring Spirit Week will be May 21-24 with the following special days:

May 21 – Decades Day

May 22 – Twin Day

May 23 – Dress to Impress Day

There will also be a school dance during the afternoon of May 23. The Grades 5/6 students can enjoy the live DJ dance during Period 5 and Grades 7/8/9 during Period 6. There will be alternate activities (board games, art, etc.) for students who do not wish to attend the school dance.

McCarthy’s Uniforms Bundle Savings

Every year McCarthy Uniforms offers bundle saving to our school communities.  These bundles offer an additional coupon incentive that can be used later in the year to top up the student’s uniform. These bundles also offer a 2 year and 1 year exchange policy. These bundles will be available on the McCarthy's website, in stores and through the Call Centre beginning on Wednesday May 1.
