Good afternoon Balmoral families
It has been a great week back at school after spring break. There are many school events coming up (list at the end of the newsletter) so please make a note of these in your calendars.
We had an AMAZING bake sale this week with the Grade 5’s bringing in many delicious treats! THANK YOU to all Grade 5 parents and families for helping with this – we raised over $300 for the Children’s Hospital so far. Next week it is the Grade 6’s turn to make and sell their treats on Wednesday, April 9.
IMPORTANT: 2024-25 Yearbooks now on sale!
This year’s school yearbook is now on sale through the Lifetouch website. These yearbooks are put together by a dedicated group of teachers and students, who capture various memories throughout the school year. This is a great memory book for all Balmoral students in Grades 5-9!
Please visit the website below and use the code to purchase the yearbook – the cost is $22. Yearbooks will be delivered to Balmoral School and distributed to students during the last week of June.

The deadline to purchase yearbooks this year is May 10.
Cultural Foods Bake Sales – April
The spring season brings many dates of significance for cultures around the world. These include Eid-al-Fitr, Holi, Vaisakhi, Songkran, Ridvan, Yom Hashoah, Easter, and many others. To recognize these days, we are inviting students to make/bake treats for sale at lunch for the following days:
April 9 – Grade 6
April 16 – Grade 7
April 23 – Grades 8 and 9
Please watch your email for a Microsoft Form the week before your child’s grade above. The form will ask you to provide information, including ingredients, for the treats you are sending. We would love to see some treats that celebrate the diversity of cultures at our school. This is an OPTIONAL activity for students, and hopefully we will have lots of tasty treats to share!
Treats will be on sale at lunch on the days above (cash only, about $2 per treat). Money raised will go to Brown Bagging for Kids, a charity that provides food for students at schools. If you have any questions about this event, please email Ms. Boyd at caboyd@cbe.ab.ca
McCarthy Uniforms Purchasing Window now OPEN
Our uniform partner, McCarthy Uniforms, has the Spring Purchasing Window OPEN beginning Wednesday March 12, 2025, and running until Wednesday April 30, 2025. This will be the final Purchasing Window for the 2024-25 school year.
You can visit the store in person or purchase uniform pieces online at https://www.mccarthyuniforms.ca/searchschool
The summer purchasing window will be Jul 2 – Oct 31.
