Good afternoon Balmoral families
Thank you to the Grade 7 students and families for their contributions to this week’s Cultural Foods Bake Sale!
A reminder that there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow (April 18) and Monday (April 21) for students. Please enjoy the long weekend and we will see you back on Tuesday, April 22.
Save the Dates
Musical Theatre Performance on Wednesday, May 7
This year our talented musical theatre group students have been working on performing “Matilda, the Musical”. This is an endearing story based on the book by Roald Dahl about a young girl who discovers she has special powers and uses these to fight injustice in her school.
We welcome all families to come watch this musical performance in the evening on May 7. This event is free to attend and all students and families are welcome.
Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 27
Every year we hold a spring concert to celebrate the incredible learning of our students through our music and band program. This year’s concert will be held on May 27 at Foothills Alliance Church in the evening. It is expected that every student participates in this concert as a culminating performance for the year. This event is free to attend. Please reach out to Ms. Fast or Mx. Spoering if you have any questions about the concert.
School Council Texas Donut Fundraiser
Our School Council will be running a Texas Donut (these are very large donuts!) sale on Wednesday, April 30 at school. Each donut will cost $5.50 and the options are Plain, Chocolate Glazed, or Chocolate Glazed with Sprinkles.
Students MUST bring their money to their HOMEROOM teacher by April 23 if they wish to purchase a donut on April 30. Homeroom teachers will be collecting money next week. Extra donuts will NOT be available for sale – only the pre-ordered amounts will be available.
Thank you for your support of this fundraiser!
School Fees are Due
Please check your MyCBE accounts for any outstanding school fees. It is important to pay these when the activity occurs so that the school is able to continue to offer these opportunities to students. If you need support with waivers or a payment plan, please contact the school office.
IMPORTANT: 2024-25 Yearbooks now on sale!
This year’s school yearbook is now on sale through the Lifetouch website. These yearbooks are put together by a dedicated group of teachers and students, who capture various memories throughout the school year. This is a great memory book for all Balmoral students in Grades 5-9!
Please visit the website below and use the code to purchase the yearbook – the cost is $22. Yearbooks will be delivered to Balmoral School and distributed to students during the last week of June.

Cultural Foods Bake Sales – April
The spring season brings many dates of significance for cultures around the world. These include Eid-al-Fitr, Holi, Vaisakhi, Songkran, Ridvan, Yom Hashoah, Easter, and many others. To recognize these days, we are inviting students to make/bake treats for sale at lunch for the following days:
- April 23 – Grades 8 and 9
Please watch your email for a Microsoft Form the week before your child’s grade above. The form will ask you to provide information, including ingredients, for the treats you are sending. We would love to see some treats that celebrate the diversity of cultures at our school. This is an OPTIONAL activity for students, and hopefully we will have lots of tasty treats to share!
Treats will be on sale at lunch on the days above (cash only, about $2 per treat). Money raised will go to Brown Bagging for Kids, a charity that provides food for students at schools. If you have any questions about this event, please email Ms. Boyd at caboyd@cbe.ab.ca
