Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s), Staff, and Students,

My name is Krista Keet and I am excited to be joining the Balmoral community as Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year.

I have been a teacher and a Learning Leader with the Calgary Board of Education for 25 years. Throughout my career, I have led teaching and learning in elementary schools, junior high schools and in one unique school that was home to grades kindergarten through nine. I have been a member of two other CBE alternative programs and understand the deep sense of community and identity our alternative programs foster. The majority of my leadership has been focused in inquiry, literacy and student services/resource. I am currently the Resource Learning leader at Falconridge School, an opportunity I have been deeply grateful for as it has allowed me to partner with a very diverse and welcoming community of learners and families.

Personally, I enjoy exercise, gardening, camping, hiking, travelling, and spending time with my amazing family. It is always a highlight for me to get one-on-one time with my teen daughters (even if it has to be in the car driving to the next tournament or competition). My next travel adventure begins early July and I’m looking forward to experiencing new cultures, places and events. I always come back with a fresh perspective and appreciation for humanity.

I am passionate about collaborating with students, teachers and parents to ensure all stakeholder’s voices are heard and that we support one another to help students achieve their fullest potential. I am thrilled to be a part of the Balmoral community and am eagerly looking forward to meeting and working alongside each one of you!
